Trips set off on diverse routes in Santos Bay, taking in Barra Fortress; Palmas Island; Góes, Cheira Limão and Sangava beaches, and Urubuqueçaba Island. Highlights on the trip through the Estuary and Bertioga channel are the port and warehouses, the old Codesp (Docks Company of the State of São Paulo) buildings, Barnabé Island, the old Santos Air Base and Diana Island. Genesis, Turismo no Mar and Bravotur travel agencies offer routes that vary from 1hour 30 minutes to 3hours 45 minutes.

Edgard Perdição Bridge

The site is an important mobility project in Santos, serving as the departure point for schooner tours and for the small boats (“catraias”) that take visitors to Góes Beach and Santa Cruz dos Navegantes. It also features Trapiche Restaurant, which serves delicious snacks and drinks, a souvenir shop with Santos memorabilia, and a café.

Schooner tours through the Bay of Santos offer a privileged and unique view of the city. The landscapes are unforgettable: fishing boats, cruise ships, cargo vessels, and environmental richness blend with a backdrop formed by hundreds of buildings, including several historic landmarks and the famous leaning buildings.

Tour

Lasting around 1h30, the itinerary begins at Ponte Edgard Perdigão, in the Ponta da Praia neighborhood. The schooners sail along the coast towards Urubuqueçaba Island, surrounded by legends. Along the way, visitors can see the 16th-century Fortress of Santo Amaro da Barra Grande, Palmas Island, and small beaches.

Wildlife

With some luck, it’s possible to spot sea turtles near Góes and Sangava beaches. Birds diving for food are also part of this beautiful scenery. The most common ones are egrets, seagulls, boobies, and southern lapwings.

Swimming break

The schooner tour also includes a swim in the open sea and a route through the port channel, the largest and most important in Latin America. So, don’t forget your swimwear to enjoy this real adventure even more. And bring a towel too, so you can dry off and keep having fun.
